Actively responding to local development needs, Sinopec has also continued to fulfill its social responsibilities, working closely with African partners and local communities to build a better life.
Focusing on people's livelihood through joint infrastructure development
Sinopec International Petroleum Service and CGCOC Group, a joint venture of Sinopec Star, have completed several landmark public infrastructure projects in Africa, including the China–Kenya Friendship Road in Nairobi; the Thika Highway, dubbed East Africa's "No. 1 Road"; and the Nigeria-Cameroon Border Bridge, a symbol of China–Africa friendship. These projects have made a significant contribution to regional development.
Beyond infrastructure, CGCOC Group has supported agricultural development in countries such as Nigeria and Burkina Faso through seed and seedling R&D and production, agricultural engineering, consulting services, and other businesses, promoting advanced agricultural technologies and ideas. The group has also established a team of experts to provide training for local agricultural technicians, managers, and farmers, equipping them with cutting-edge and practical skills.
While delivering a project in Kenya, Sinopec International Petroleum Service installed accessible and clean water pipelines for the Maasai community in the Nanyuki mountainous region near the project site, meeting local drinking water needs and benefiting 128 households.

Building bridges of friendship through strengthened charitable partnerships
Sinopec has remained deeply committed to promoting gender equality in education across Africa. The Company, in collaboration with Apache Corporation, launched an educational assistance program for girls in Egypt, aimed at supporting school-age girls in agricultural regions to access schooling. Backed by a dedicated fund, the program has helped construct over 200 girls' schools, benefiting 15,000 girls. Beyond regular school upkeep, Sinopec has also provided instructional tools and medical supplies, facilitated donations of funds and items such as computers, and supported the living expenses of particularly disadvantaged girls—all of which have been well received by local communities.
