Recently, China’s first 100-kilometer-long-distance CO₂ pipeline – Sinopec’s Qilu-Shengli CCUS Project at a million-tonne scale has been operating safely and steadily for 1000 days. The project has significantly boosted oil production capacity, creating a virtuous cycle of lower emissions and higher oil production.

The related technologies and equipment of the project were awarded the highest honor, the Jury’s Special Commendation Gold Medal, at the 51st Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. And the organizing committee also presented a Special Innovation Award to the project. These achievements mark China’s world-leading level in key technologies and equipment for Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS), contributing a Chinese solution to global carbon reduction efforts.
