The 19th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum kicked off in St. Petersburg, Russia, on June 19. Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli delivered a speech at the annual meeting of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Wang Yupu, Chairman of Sinopec Group, attended the meeting and delivered a speech at the energy summit of the Forum.
As the largest integrated petroleum and petrochemical company in China with upstream, midstream and downstream operations, Sinopec has made great progress in the field of energy and petrochemical cooperation in Russia, said Wang in his speech. Sinopec will actively participate in the projects of oil ＆ gas exploration, refining and chemical engineering in the Far East Region of Russia to strengthen the cooperation with Russia.
During his visit to Russia, Wang visited Udmurtia Petroleum Corporation (UDM), a joint venture owned by Rosneft Oil and Sinopec. Wang expected UDM could sum up cooperation experiences, expand cooperative scope and play the supporting roles of Sinopec and Rosneft to create greater value for the shareholders.
Wang also met with Rosneft President Igor Sechin, PDVSA President Eulogio Del Pino and Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov, exchanging views with them on existing cooperation and potential cooperation opportunities in energy.
