In 2023, the Company deeply implemented the innovation driven development strategy, consolidated scientific and technological innovation as the main force, strived to break through key core technologies, deepened the reform of the scientific and technological system and mechanism, promoted the deep integration of the innovation chain and industrial chain, continuously improved the leading and supporting forces of scientific and technological innovation, and accomplished new results.

Sinopec Catalyst Co., Ltd., Sinopec Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry, and Shelfoil Petroleum Equipment & Services Company were awarded the "benchmark" title for their science and technology reform achievements. The Matrix Company was selected in the 2023 "Science and Technology Reform Action" expansion list. Four national key laboratories mainly constructed by Sinopec were optimized and restructured, with two new ones under construction. The National Carbonate Oil and Gas Laboratory was approved and Sinopec became the leading construction unit of the first batch of national energy research and development innovation platforms during the 14th Five Year Plan period. The Company continuously improved the mechanism for tackling new technologies, launched pilot projects for the "Seed Program", and optimized the mechanism for research and development. We provided stable support to affiliated research institutes to maintain a leading position in advantageous areas. The Company implemented "the Youth Doctoral Support Program" and fully leveraged the innovative role of young scientific and technological talents.
