Sinopec registered new reserves in its newly discovered Bazhong gas field in Chuanyu Natural Gas Base of Southwest China, which added a new gas field to Project Deep Earth with its proven reserves of 30.55 billion cubic meters (BCM) in its 1st phase.

The discovery of the gas field bodes for good exploration potential of tight sandstone formation in Northeast Sichuan. 

Moving forward, Sinopec will focus on geological characterization and engineering technologies on tight sandstone formation in Sichuan Basin, with an aim to score bigger exploration achievement.
