Nestled amidst the suburban mountains of central Ethiopia, the ADAMA wind farm boasts rows of towering wind turbines that sway gracefully in the wind. It is the first wind power project in the country and the first Sino-Ethiopian cooperation project in the field of wind power. The consortium formed by CGCOC Group, jointly funded by Sinopec Star Company Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinopec, and other investors. The ADAMA wind farm meets 20% of the electricity demand of Ethiopia's capital city, easing the strain on electricity supply while generating employment opportunities for 1000 local residents. Moreover, it contributes to Africa's clean energy goals, promotes economic transformation and development, and heralds a brighter future for the region.
